Word #244

Experimentation
First get out your ingredients
and mix together per the recipe.

Then hang out around
the oven while they bake

Finish off the last batch while you wait

Here's the recipe. You can see from
my notes that I have reduced the
amount of sugar to 1 1/3 cups.
This batch I also used pineapple
juice instead of OJ and used lemon zest
instead of the orange zest.
Very yummy experiment.
Have fun in your kitchen!

Local
After moving to Weed California
it took us several months to find our
local growers of organic food.
Here are two farmers at the Mt Shasta Farmers Market.
Look at that gorgeous food!

Dumpster Diving
These two women were emptying the donation
box as I was walking by- it does look a bit suspect.
Actually they were volunteers helping.

It's not hard figuring out

The little deer are ever hopeful!

Word #236

Frustration
Lucy is thinking to herself:
"When are my humans going to pay attention
to me? I want to go out on the balcony now !"
The humans are not about to let Lucy out
on the balcony because she jumped from the balcony
to the roof yesterday. Russell had to climb up a ladder
and stuff her into a pillowcase to bring her back down.
Lucy promptly took a six hour nap.

Sustenance
Tomatoes do not last long in our home.
From the garden to the house they have
been known to disappear. Garden candy!

Toddler
This little guy was so determined to lead the little goat.
He managed it - what a cutie!

"I want to do it!"
"No, no, come this way!"

"Come on little buddy!"

Pressing
Since 1962 this WWll wooden ironing board
has been mine. No one else seems to want it....
except for Lucy who thinks it makes a dandy scratching post.

Word #224

Unexpected
Who would expect an ATM in the middle of a building's mural?

Ratatouille
I made a delicious dinner last night.
Instead of "Chicken Catch-a-Tory"
I made Chicken Ratatouille.
The eggplants, zucchini, onons, garlic, kale and stringbeans
all came out of the garden. I had to add store bought tomatoes
as all of ours are still green. It was yummy!
Tonight I will grill some more eggplants and zucchini
to go with the rest of our dinner.

Returning

 Rearview

Remembering
Traveling with Russell up and down the I-5 corridor
I amuse myself by taking photos as we speed along.
When we left Portland it was misty and as soon as we
went past Sutherlin it was sunny and lovely.
